You must have the Windows ME CD ready for this Procedure. Close all programs, you may need to restart the computer after following these instructions.

Adding Dialup Networking

Double click on My Computer, then double click on Control Panel.


Double click on Dial-Up Networking.


If the Connection Wizard does not start, then double click on Make New Connection.


Enter in ssmnet, then click Next.


Enter in area code, then phone number, See List for the phone number in your area, then click Next.


Click Finish to continue.

Configuring Network settings in ssmnet properties

Double click on My computer, then on Dial-Up Networking, then click With the right hand side of your mouse, then left click on Properties.


Uncheck the Use country code and area code, then click on Server Types.


Click on the server tab, make sure that PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT, 3.5 internet is the Dial-Up Server, and the only check is in the TCP/IP, then click on TCP/IP Settings, Click OK, then OK again.

Connect to The Web

Double click on Shortcut to SSMNET on desktop or double click on My Computer, enter in the password, you may want to save password, check Save password.
