Setting up the Free PPP
Back to Main Support Page
Click on the Apple icon upper left corner, highlight Control Panel, then select TCP/IP. Select
Free PPP, click on the Accounts tab.
Click on New.
Enter in your ssmnet for server name, then enter the phone number for your area,
See List for the phone number in your area, then enter in userid on the User name, example
userid@ssmnet.net, then enter in your password, then click on the Connections tab.
Select 57600 for the port speed and CTS & RTS (DTR) for the Flow control, then click on the Options tab,
then click on OK.
To connect to the internet click on connect.
You will see this.
MacTCP setup, highlight PPP, then click on More.
Select class A, and set Obtain Address by Server.
Click OK when done.
